Not built for not modern companies
A group interview involving going up on a stage and ‘presenting/introduce’ yourself is a no from me, I will instantly leave.
“Please record a 2-3 minute video of you talking about yourself!”. No. What on earth am I supposed to say in that? If I have to suffer a terrible interview procedure then the Interviewer should too.
Making candidates wait for 3 hours while you have lunch, wander around and natter to others isn’t good either. Left a note with that one saying “No thanks”.
And that when the job description is legitimate, 80% of the jobs around here are miles away from where they say they are, and are inaccessible to most people seeking work.
You want someone suitable for the role you advertise, despite you taking the piss with the description most of the time. Least you can do is properly accommodate people.
We want stable income, we don’t want to travel amongst daily chaos for 3 hours for minium wage to deal with more chaos.
If I take a job out of town which starts before 6am, I can’t get there as there is no transport running.
Same if it ends after 5pm, there is no transport back, Oh and Buses don’t run on weekends or bank holidays as a extra ‘Screw you!’.
my own worst enemy
After COVID my health didn’t seem to go well at all. I had migraines before COVID, but seem to get them more now from stress.
Now I suffer from Anxiety, mainly a worry that my stomach will not behave itself, which regularly causes pain, which then escalates to nausea and possibility Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
It manifests itself during travel with brain racing through ‘what ifs’, If i ever got an interview it’ll probably hurt me.
Pretty much fed up.
It’s demoralising to be always rejected, its even worse when you get no response at all.
Being told that “you don’t have the experience”, despite working in the industry for 20+ years, is very silly.
With everything seemingly against me, I’m beginning to think ‘why bother?’. I don’t get an interview often, and when I do its a group one or really off putting.
