Far too hot

Since when has it been fine to have 20 degrees at night?!

During the day I’m fairly comfortable with 11 to 25 degrees (that’s Celsius!), with an ideal around 15. That’s pretty far below the 41 degrees forecasters predict this week and is not welcome, thank you. 41 is far too hot.

We going to need a Heat Pump

No, they don’t look like that!

We have the technology already to make the heat more bearable, Air Conditioners, but in the UK our old housing and environments aren’t designed for them, So it takes lots more money to adapt them to work in most houses.

Heat pumps are almost the same idea, and while being slowly deployed, they seem to be getting more efficient but with so many types. Now, if only it didn’t cost nearly £10,000 to find out if it’ll work with the house.

There are so many different types too, Airsource, Ground Source for example.

Some of them are quite simple too, exchanging heat and either storing it underground or in a container or directly using the stored heat to power exchange to cooling with refrigeration equipment.

And it makes sense to use them, they are way more efficient than regular gas burning boilers.

Chances are if they do get cheaper to setup, there’s going to be no engineers available to maintain them due to the numbers.
